From West Texas to the Heart of Madrid

A little about the guy behind the bull.

I grew up in Austin, Texas, and started playing disc golf when I was 12 years old. By the time I headed off to college in West Texas in 2001, disc golf was already a pretty big part of my life.

I spent those college years out west before eventually making my way back to Austin, where I continued playing competitively and staying involved in the Texas disc golf community.

Over the years, the sport has taken me from Texas to South Carolina and eventually across the Atlantic to Spain.

In 2020, I moved to Madrid, where I continued playing, competing, and working to introduce disc golf to new communities.

Today, I run Mad Disc Golf inside Mercado de la Cebada, a traditional Spanish market in the heart of Madrid.

It's a pretty unusual place for a disc golf shop. My neighbors sell fresh fish, meat, fruits, and vegetables. I sell flying plastic.

But that's part of what makes it fun.

Alongside running the shop, I've helped establish disc golf courses in the United States, Spain, and Cyprus, and I'm still working to bring the sport to new communities, public parks, and traditional golf facilities here in Southern Europe.

When you pick up something from Mad Disc Golf, you're helping keep an independent business going and supporting the work we're doing to grow disc golf in places where the sport is still finding its feet.
